With more than 20 years of career and passages by important metal bands such as Croskill, Devil Torturer, Desertor, Messianic Cry, Seven Angels and Doomsday Hymn, guitarists Angelo Torquetto and Karim Serri announced on September 20 2016, their newest band with the mission to honor and represent the strength of the brazilian Metal: Legacy of Kain.

 

“After many mistakes and successes, we alearned a lot about having a band, relationship, way of working and focus,” says Karim Serri.  When we get together to set up the LOK (Legacy of Kain), we use everything we’ve learned in recent years in our favor.”

 

Currently the line up of LOK is more than consolidated with vocalist Markos Franzmann, drummer Tiago Rodrigues and guitarrist Karim Serri. 3 musicians who think the same way and have the same goal, without restrictions, prepared in terms of commitment and availability, to go wherever Metal takes them.

 

It did not take long and the band released the highly praised EP “Greta”, a full plate for the headbangers who enjoy quality Thrash Metal and with one foot in Modern Metal. They are only three songs, but they exemplify in a sublime way all the aggressive and answering sound of the LOK.

 

In October of 2017 the band reached a new level in his career when releasing the album “I.N.V.E.R.S.O”. With production, mixing and mastering done by guitarist Karim Serri at Silent Music Studio, the album has 12 tracks filled with riffs, agressive guitars, breakdowns and more, much more. 

 

The cover art of “INVERSO”, as it had been in “Greta”, was done by the renowned Carlos Fides from Artside Design Studio and expresses exactly what the band wants to pass: for every act there is a beginning and an end in which the consequences can be disastrous. The cover makes visible the legacy of Cain that as the story goes, was the first murder committed by man; Cain killed his own brother out of envy, and we have followed these steps ever since. Fides captured exactly the idea that we would like to go through. 

 

In the first months of 2019 the band starts recording their second album, with Fernanda Lira (NERVOSA) Feat in 2 songs, one of them being an unusual version of Get Lucky music by the French duo Daft Punk.

 

Paralelo XI represents a new stage in the life of the LOK. An album created with a lot of effort and that according to the band, represents much better because and for which the LOK came. To promote this album, two more South American tours are scheduled. One in the first half with 13 concerts between the North of Brazil, Bolivia and Peru and one in the second semester by Paraguay, Argentina and Chile, closing with the opening of  for Krisiun in santiago of Chile.

 

PARALELO XI

 

Parallel XI is a reference to one of the greatest genocides in the history of our country. The massacre of Parallel XI occurred in the 60s with the involvement of the federal government, loggers who almost annihilate the Cinta Larga tribe that today occupy the border between Mato Grosso and Rondônia. We have tried in several songs of this album to romanticize some of the saddest and most shameful events of our history.
